Foothill Roots Farm is a diversified organic farm using biologically intensive, regenerative, no-till practices. The farm is nestled in the Sierra Foothills. We cultivate approx. 5.5 acres of a historic 150 acre property, and grow a large variety of vegetables, herbs, fruit, and flowers. We sell our produce through a 100-member CSA program, at our twice weekly on-farm farm stand, and through wholesale accounts to local restaurants and food distributors.
We’re looking for hard working, self-motivated, good-natured individuals with prior agriculture experience, manual labor/athletic background to join our farm crew for our Summer season (opportunity to join our year round crew exists). This is a fast paced work environment.
We are eager to share our methods of intensive, regenerative farming. As part of the farm crew one can expect to take part in all aspects of the daily tasks of seasonal farming, including but not limited to: greenhouse work, planting, cultivating, weeding, harvesting, washing, and packing produce, working shifts at our twice weekly farm stand, plus other farm maintenance work as necessary.
We work hard in the heat and cold, and have fun doing it! Being able to maintain a good attitude on a long day is super important. Although we keep the work varied, farming is inherently challenging. Ideal candidates are committed to the farming lifestyle and all it entails.

Duties & Responsibilities
Prior agriculture experience required. (1 year minimum)
Our goal is to enhance your knowledge and skill set while working on a small scale diversified vegetable farm. Opportunity for multiple year, long term employment exists and is desired.
We’re looking for people who are serious about farming and want to make it their career. People who love vegetables, hard work, working at a fast pace, are self-motivated, and who like a good conversation. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather, lift 40+ pounds, enjoy repetitive tasks, enjoy customer service, and have a valid drivers license.
Crew members are assigned an area of increased responsibility, with a focus such as irrigation, packhouse management, wholesale account management, marketing, or greenhouse management. Additionally, each crew member is assigned a field(s) to pay particular attention to throughout the growing season. Field observations are shared as a group every Monday morning at our field walk meetings. Occasional after-hours/weekend responsibilities should be expected.
We work Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day
$100/day + produce (vegetables, fruits, flowers)
Assistance in finding housing locally, with a potential for on-farm housing.
