To manage the gardens at the Mendocino County Jail in Ukiah.

Full time position managing the 1.5 acre farm growing produce, herbs, flowers etc. You’ll be working with volunteers and inmates to cultivate the gardens and teaching inmates and youth in juvenile hall how to garden.
·  5 years working in an organic farm or community garden
·  3 years in a garden managerial/leadership role
·  Experience leading/teaching others how to garden, about the plants, growing process etc.
·  Greenhouse plant management, propagation, transplanting and pest/disease management.
·  Strong communication skills—and be comfortable working in and leading groups.
·  Experience using and maintaining of farm tools and equipment, including tractor, saw, shovel, and other implements.
·  Healthy physical condition and ability to lift 50 lbs.
·  Good organization and attention to detail.
·  English required, Spanish is desirable but not required.
·  Valid driver’s license
