Regenerative Farm-to-School Field Day: Farro, Nude Oats, Teff, Oh My!

February 27, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 2:30 pm

Join us for a day exploring how regenerative local farming is being grown and featured in San Luis Obispo region schools on this roving, multi-location field day. Explore a unique public private partnership with farmers at SLO City Farm, a Farm to School lunch and Central Kitchen tour at Laguna Middle School, and end the day learning about Organic Ancient Grain production from a mechanical engineer-turned-farmer at Kandarian Organic Farms in Los Osos. This tour is sure to offer some of California’s most unique, innovative farming practices and systems and the practitioners bringing them to students.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Participants will be expected to drive themselves and carpooling options will be coordinated in advance. Attendees may join for any or all stops of this tour, but either way RSVP is required.
