From the FieldVentura Report:Jim Churchill is continuing his work as CAFF’s representative on the Ag Futures Alliance, which held a press conference at the end of February to present “Farming Near Schools: A Community-Based Approach for Protecting Children.” Media coverage included the Ventura Star, the Ventura edition of the LA Times and the local NPR radio station. Jim has been putting in a lot of work on the Farm Worker Housing Committee report. Our hope is to expand the committee to include activists in the field and mobilize support within the ag community. Jim wants to wrap this work up by the end of May in order to focus on food systems organizing. He also exhibited at the April 27 Faulkner Farm Day (official attendance 3,600) on April 27 on behalf of CAFF and the Farm-to-School project. |
