His March 18 meeting was attended by newly elected Modesto City Councilman and activist Denny Jackman, along with the eleven or so core chapter members. Russ intends to make increasing member participation in chapter meetings a priority. Charlie and Sally Magnuson hosted the April 15 chapter meeting. Topics included CAFF’s Merced River watershed work, executive director search, hedgerow and habitat work, the Heartland Conference, chapter expansion, gravel mining operations and issues surrounding the proposed operation.
