Local Food Marketing Campaigns

Overview

For over 30 years CAFF has played a role in supporting, creating, and leading campaigns and actions to advance the local food movement. CAFF has been the state host for Buy Fresh Buy Local (BFBL) in California since 2002 and has used the BFBL Campaign Manual extensively in our consumer education work.

The local food movement has done a tremendous job in growing the demand and support for local food in communities across the country. Institutions such as schools and hospitals are joining the list of interested buyers seeking out fresh, local food, and the number of retail stores and restaurants offering source identified produce, dairy, meat, and grains keeps going up.

In 2014, CAFF joined Grown Local in Sonoma County so that farmers and businesses in that region could also utilize the Go Local brand.
