2Yr AB 1437 Huffman (D) Shelled Eggs: Sale for Human Consumption: Compliance Amends existing law that relates to the regulation of food products and the treatment of farm animals. Prohibits the sale of a shelled egg for human consumption if it is the product of an egg-laying hen that was confined on a farm or place that is not in compliance with specified animal care standards.   AB 1891 Higher Education Cmt Sustainable Agriculture Research: Agricultural Chemical Amends existing law which requests the Regents of the University of California to establishes the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program to support competitive grants to promote more research and education on sustainable agricultural practices, and to report the giving of instructions and practical demonstrations in agriculture.   AB 1960 Ma (D) Agriculture: Fruits, Nuts, Vegetables: State Grown Act Provides state legislative findings regarding the marketing of State-grown agricultural commodities within the state.   AB 1963 Nava (D) Pesticide Poisoning Requires any laboratory that performs cholinesterase testing on human blood for an employer to enable the employer to satisfy his or her responsibilities for medical supervision of his or her employees who regularly handle pesticides pursuant to specified regulations or to respond to alleged exposure to cholinesterase inhibitors or known exposure to the inhibitors that resulted in illness to electronically report specified information to the Department of Pesticide Regulation.   AB 1965 Yamada (D) Agricultural Land: Williamson Act: Lot Line Adjustments Amends the Williamson Act that authorizes city or county and a landowner to agree to rescind a contract or contracts and simultaneously enter into a new contract or contracts to facilitate lot line adjustments. Extends the repeal date of the contract rescission provision. Requires that an application to rescind a contract for lot line adjustments be processed to its completion if it is submitted prior to a specified date.   AB 2122 Mendoza (D) Pesticides: Regulations: Continuing Education Provides that a regulation adopted or amended pertaining to continuing education requirements for licensure or certification issued by the Director of Pesticide Regulation shall establish minimum course requirements related to pest management and plant health.   AB 2137 Chesbro (D) Fertilizing Material: Labels Amends existing law that generally regulates fertilizing materials including the labeling of fertilizing materials and defines the term label and labeling.   AB 2530 Nielsen (R) Agricultural Preserves: Advisory Board Amends an existing law authorizing a city or county to enter into contracts to establish agricultural preserves and authorizing such city or county to appoint an advisory board to advise on such matters. Specifies matters on which the advisory board may advise. 2Yr SB 416 Florez (D) Antibiotics Authorizes a school district to make every effort to purchase poultry and meat products that have not been treated with nontherapeutic antibiotics. Authorizes each district that purchases such poultry or meat products to report annually to the Superintendent of Public Instruction certain information relating to those products. Requires an operator of an oil and gas operation or mining operation to disclose to the owner of surface rights any agreement between the operator and a drilling company. 2Yr SB 715 Wolk (D) Agricultural Land: Williamson Act Amends the Williamson Act. Requires the landowner to furnish the city or county with information that is directly related to the landowner's compliance with the Act. Requires the body to deny approval of a tentative map, or parcel map for the purpose of land that is subject to a contract entered into pursuant to the Act, unless certain findings are made.   SB 1006 Pavley (D) Natural Resources: Climate Change Requires the Strategic Growth Council to take certain actions with regard to coordinating programs to address climate change impacts.   SB 1153 Hancock (D) Energy: Sustainable Energy Zone Authorizes the Energy Commission to designate a sustainable energy zone suitable for the construction or operation of renewable energy projects and designated transmission corridors. Requires the Energy Commission to identify zones where projects can be built that are consistent with the strategic plan for the state's electric transmission grid. Requires the Energy Commission to report to the legislature regarding the designation of sustainable energy zones.   AB 1594 Huber (D) Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta: Peripheral Canal Prohibits the construction of a peripheral canal that conveys water from a diversion point in the Sacramento River to a location south of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, unless expressly authorized by the Legislature. Requires the Legislative Analyst's Office to complete an economic feasibility analysis prior to the enactment of a statute authorizing the construction of a peripheral canal.
