Description:
Seeking capable, self-motivated individual to assist program administrator with general administration, program support, and information management.  This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about grant management, community food systems, and sustainable agriculture while gaining valuable work experience in the non-profit industry.

Essential Functions:

Grant and Contract Administration

  • Act as funder liaison, providing grant or contract-related information to agency representatives, writing thank you letters, disseminating relevant press to funding agencies, and trouble-shooting problems as needed.

  • Prepare grant and contract summaries for new projects.

  • Assist as needed with the submission of interim and final reports for all grants and contracts.

Program Support

  • Assist in the creation of program and project workplans.
  • Maintain electronic files, physical files and funder database.

Information Management

  • Set up physical and electronic files for new grants and contract
  • File proposals, Letters of Introduction (LOIs) and reports in an organized physical and electronic system.

  • Maintain an extensive organized e-mail filing system for CAFF’s Community Food Systems Program grants and contracts.

  • Physically file, reports, deliverables, payment records and important correspondence in the grant and contract files.

Miscellaneous

  • Attend regular staff meetings and program staff meetings, and participate in staff training opportunities.
  • Work on special projects as assigned by program administrator, program director, or executive director.
  • Provide administrative support to program staff.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Knowledge of community food systems
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent communication, administrative, and organization skills
  • Ability to edit for grammar, spelling, and syntax
  • Strong computer skills including experience working with databases
  • Familiarity with PageMaker, Word, and Excel
