The 2nd annual How Green Is Your Wine? panel discussion and wine tasting event was held at the San Francisco Ferry Building in partnership with Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (CUESA). California vintners and wine grape growers discussed organic and biodynamic vineyard practices, dry farming techniques, and what actually goes into their wine bottles. After the panel, attendees mingled with growers and winemakers while tasting some of these delicious and “green” wines and sampling local foods from the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. This finale event marks the close of a second year of dry farming and irrigation efficiency workshops for wine grape growers all over California. CAFF hopes to support the market for sustainable wine grape growing by educating the consumer about the importance of using sustainable practices in wine grape growing, and building enthusiasm for these wineries and others like them by giving people a chance to taste them.
