2007 Colusa County Air Quality Field Day

Almond Prunings: Chip, Chop, Shred

Date: Monday November 19th, 2007

Time: Check-in and coffee at 8:30AM; program begins at 9AM

Location: Arbuckle, CA

From Arbuckle, head west on Hillgate Road, turn left on Almond Ave. The orchard will be on left, 500 yards beyond Grant Ave. Look for Field Day signs.

Description:

Brent Holtz, UCCE Farm Advisor (Madera) and almond farmer, will explain how shredding improves soil quality and provides nurtrients to almond orchards.

TJ Gomez, Air Pollution Standards Officer, Colusa, will highlight potential upcoming changes to air quality regulations.

Johnnie Siliznoff, NRCS Air Quality Specialist, Fresno, will detail management practices for air quality improvement measures.

Shredding demonstration will follow presentations. Rain or Shine. Come watch shredding in action!

Joe Martinez (Winters, CA), with his Flory machine;


Jim Goddard and Jack Hurley (Chico, CA) with thier Rears machine;

....and others!!!
